Staying behind after school
Just to write some lines,
Writing: “I must not bring my dog to school.”
Out One Thousand times.
“I didn’t bring her she followed me.”
I protested to Mrs Hall.
“I don’t see for what my Dog did
I should be punished at all.”
Mrs Hall did not believe me.
Saying, “Surely if that’s true
The dog would not have been in your bag
Being fed by you.”
“She obviously got in the bag when I wasn’t looking, ”
Was my response to what she had said.
“She packed the food herself as well
To ensure she’d be fed.”
“Wow what an intelligent Dog.”
Mrs Hall said sarcastically.
She then gave me detention
To prove she didn’t believe me.
So here I am writing out my lines
Because Mrs Hall said I was wrong.
And I suppose that if I was honest
She was right all along.
