I Used to Dream

I used to dream of lovely endings
But now I am burdened by reality

I used to dream of wingless creatures
But now I can fly

I used to dream of rose petals
But now all I have is a wilted heart

I used to dream of happiness
But now I see no end to my misery

I used to dream of sightless music
But now I see the beauty of life

Poem of the Day

poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti

A little while a little love
The hour yet bears for thee and me
Who have not drawn the veil to see
If still our heaven be lit above.
Thou merely, at the day's last sigh,
