Isn'T It Funny? - Poem by P.S. Blair

Isn’t it funny what a smile can hide
When really I’m dying inside and
I wish that you could see
The mask I wear isn’t really me

Isn’t it funny what a lie can cover
The fractured hearts of empty lovers
Who use their scars as secrets to tell
For little to nothing, their love they sell

Isn’t it funny how subtle the change and
The thoughts in your head get rearranged
From falling to the bathroom floor
To falling through hospital doors
