Journey though life

Packing up the things to say goodbye
thinking back to the memories trying not to cry
it was time to leave home
to have a life of your own

leaving the place where you been your entire life
walking past the streets where you use to ride you bike
hugging your mum before you went on your way
telling her you will be back someday

getting in the car ready leave
having a neighbour told you that how fast you grown up was hard to believe
getting on the plane with your new life a head
but you cant stop thinking about the past instead

20 years later you finally come home
all you family have passed on so you live alone
your kids have grown up so you move away
you go back to the house you were always wanted to stay
even though no one you knew was there
it was still home to you so you didn't care

you stayed there until it was your time to pass
even though you didn't know anyone you never looked back
you went back to the town where your family died
and to be back with them by their side

Poem of the Day

poet Robert William Service

Just Home and Love! the words are small
Four little letters unto each;
And yet you will not find in all
The wide and gracious range of speech
Two more so tenderly complete:
