Kata Bassai Dai

Sordular bilgeye
doğduğu yerde batan sır nedir
mahremidir dedi alacakaranlıkların
damıtır bedenden tülbentsiz
en cömert çeşmesi hayatın

alacakaranlık nedir dedi acizler
hain bir tuzak dedi bazen
umulmadık an’larda
gölgene meydan okuyan
ya da uzatmadan çetrefilli yolu
kestirmeden üstüne çullanan

ey! bilge
gölgeyi’de anlat dedi biri
siyah bir dinginlik dedi
belini kuşatan
giderip gövdesinde şiddeti
damıtılmışın tadına varan

nedir dediler beli kuşatan söyle!
felsefik bir sav dedi
aklını selim kılan
şevk verip ruhuna bolca
savaşta muzaffer kılan

döküldü acizler sır yoluna
diz boyu alınterleri
seslendi Oyama usta uzaklardan
kata bassai dai! ...

poet Percy Bysshe Shelley

We are as clouds that veil the midnight moon;
How restlessly they speed, and gleam, and quiver,
Streaking the darkness radiantly!--yet soon
