Lingering Memories

I lay here remembering it all
remembering everything about you
remembering the way you would
pull me closer so I wouldnt fall
remembering how you would
hold me tighter and speak so gently
I remember your smile too well
it lingers in my mind
the lost shadow haunting me
not letting me forget
when I would lay there
silently in your arms
till you pulled me closer
to warmth, to love, to the one I've left behind
its all vanished, just disappeared
replaced with all the lingering memories

Poem of the Day

poet George Gordon Byron

So we'll go no more a-roving
So late into the night,
Though the heart still be as loving,
And the moon still be as bright.

For the sword outwears its sheath,
