Love can be a rocky road
that can lead straight through hell,
stomp your heart, crush your soul;
why we need it, is impossible to tell
except that love can also resurrect
and create life anew,
the legs to stand
wings to fly;
a life with purpose too.
Both a blessing and a pain
that drives us to our knees
praying,
“God help me find someone
to hold onto please.
I know your love is near me
your voice I hear within;
in your eyes I find such grace,
but I still need a comfort,
someone of my own in this earthen place.”
