Make The Desert Bloom

God says He'll make the desert bloom,
I know His words are true.
I saw the desert bloom today,
it looked like a rose
with little Maraschino cherries,
oh, I saw the desert bloom.

Sometimes I feel like I'm a desert,
like all I can do is hurt.
Baby, come make me bloom
I'd be such a pretty flower,
yes, I'd smile for you,
come make the desert bloom.

Baby, I'm a cactus,
I need these thorns for protection
but even cactus's bloom,
so, if you need a drink of water,
I'll open up for you
and make the desert bloom.

You'll be safe in my arms
and I'll protect you,
because all I have are gentle thorns
and all I need is you.
This desert is killing me,
come make the desert bloom.
