Melting Moments

As the voices melt into the silence
and the silence engulfs all
As the winter melts into spring
and the spring into summer
As at the estuary, the rivers melt into the sea
and the sea then joins the ocean
As the saffron rays melt in the sky
and the twilight fades into dusk
As the whispers melt in the cacophony
and it makes them go unheard
As the shadows melt when light shows
and those which melt in the dark
As you melt into the unlit alleys
and I stalk you close behind
As the resplendent shine melts the gloom
and sheen hurts the eyes
As our hands melt into each others’
and we forget who we were
As our steps melt the distance
and the destination is still unknown
As some of those words melt on my tongue
and the ones in your ears too
As our lips melt into a smile
and we know not who we are.

poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti

Young Love lies sleeping
In May-time of the year,
Among the lilies,
Lapped in the tender light:
White lambs come grazing,
White doves come building there:
