Note From Another

I am tossing and turning
As my soul is yearning
And my mind is learning
Why my heart is burning
I am sweating and hyperventilating
These thoughts are so frustrating
As I am in this bed hating
Everything I am trading
She is sleeping soundly next to me
As I am drenched in sweat and misery
I am tossing and turning
As my soul is yearning
And my mind is learning
Why my heart is burning
And it isn’t for her sleeping next to me
It is for what’s drenching me in misery
Today I found a note that another wrote last year
And now my eyes are swelling with tears
And I am lying still drenched in fear
What the hell am I doing here?
Now I am wiping the tears out of my eyes
Thinking of what I have done to our lives
I thought that I could get something more
Instead I lost all I wanted for a greater price
I am tossing and turning
As my soul is yearning
And my mind is learning
Why my heart is burning
And it is for another from last year
And now my eyes are swelling with tears
And I am lying still drenched in fear
What the hell am I doing here?
I am tossing and turning
As my soul is yearning
And my mind is learning
That my heart is burning
Burning for another
For I think I love her
And it’s too late for us
As she is sleeping soundly next to me
As I lay here drenched in my misery
And I am lying so still in fear
What the hell am I doing here?

Oft I had heard of Lucy Gray:
