One of the best

I am not the best
but I'm one of the best!
Yes, you can put me to the test
and, when the sun sets in the west,
when each and every bird revisits its cosy nest,
I may not have risen above the rest
nor deemed best of the best
But, still, I'll be one of the best
I mean, the best in believing in myself,
for I do believe I'm better than an elf
So I'll never hide myself in a quiet shelf
nor will I dare compromise myself
But I'll always value my passion and presence,
and carry on 'till I make some sense!

poet Rupert Brooke
