outskirts

half an hour
of time from
the center of
town
on foot
a
bronze line
wheat fields
silence
but birds
will sing
and fly above
couples
will walk
tight
and
lovely
it is the
countryside
outskirts
they are people
of different idiom
now
a promenade
and where i live

Unequal laws unto a savage race,
