Poised And Calm - Poem by Cyndi K. Gacosta
Poised and calm you stand
With neither coat nor gun in hand
Amid the world's apocalypse now.
Rampaging wildfires, crumbling cities, a darkening sky,
Flowing red rivers where casualties lie
You pass them by with requiem in your heart.
Despite violent storms and global war,
The withering nature and human gore
Poised and calm, you say, "Keep hope then we'll rise."
