Prisoner Of Your Love - Poem by Laura Avelar

YOU’VE TAKEN MY HEART,

MY SOUL,

MY LOVE,

YOU’VE KEPT IT AS YOUR PRISONER

AND I’M HELPLESS.

I’M CLAWING AT THE WALLS OF THE PRISON

THAT I’M IN

SCRATCHING,

SCREAMING,

CRYING

AND YOU KEEP ME THERE

AS YOUR PRISONER.

I’M HEART-BROKEN,

I’M SWIMMING IN TEARS,

I’M DROWNING IN SORROW,

I’M A PRISONER OF YOUR LOVE.

I WATCH THE CLOCK,

THE MINTUES TICK BY SLOWLY

SLOWLY,

SLOWLY,

AND I WAIT,

WAIT FOR YOU TO FREE ME

FROM THE PRISON YOU’VE PUT ME IN.

I’M YOURS,

ALWAYS,

ALWAYS,

FOREVER,

NOT MATTER IF YOU SET ME FREE.

I’M ALWAYS THERE

WAITING TO BE RECAPTURED ONCE AGAIN BY THE LOVE

YOU CLAIM TO HAVE FOR ME…
