Secret A. Lovers

Secret Lover

You promised to never make me cry
So it turned out that it was only a lie
I gave you my love my life and trusted you with my heart
You gave it back crushed broken and bruised
You said I want to make you my wife
and always have you in my life
You wanted to live a secret
No more secrets
You were my the one who completed me
I did everything to please you
You let me down and never deserved me
Secret lover was what I meant to you
You hide our love because you never loved me
My love you used me and now you had to lose me
I never wanted to say good bye
but the only thing you did was made me cry
We were supposed to grow old together
and share an unbreakable bond
Were you ashamed of me?
I was the one who gave you
passion compassion faith joy laughter and light
healed your heart and you broke mine

The cheque was spent that the shearer earned,
and the sheds were all cut out;
