Taking Turns to...

See? it was very arduous
to get things right with us

hadn't even been a week
since we patch things up
but we are here again
with things lying broken up

haven't forgotten you said
struggle to survive without giving up
while we both realize'I do need you'
and we both were leaving with heavy heart
for the first time

we haven't
but it seems like
we have dealt and
signed a deal
to step down from the stance
of whoever is possible
to retain
our support, comfort
to each other

poet Henry Lawson

The old year went, and the new returned, in the withering weeks of drought,
The cheque was spent that the shearer earned,
and the sheds were all cut out;
