Thank God I Am Still Read

Thank God I am still read
Then being yelled at instead
The voice of Hafiz and Rumi
Run in my veins
The lamenting oboe
In the orchestra of love
Not the blazing horns
That earthquakes my core
But this gentle breathe
From flapping wings of the butterflies
That caress my thoughts in the morning
And fans my drunkenness late at night
Fills up my empty cup
With the taste of God's wine
Complementing my meals
The morsels of my life
And into my thoughts you nest
Like the robin in the spring
Nursing the love of my love
My awaking life
And my yelping moon
In the vastness of my skies
Running free, unattached
From one corner of my screen
To the other floating free
From the reels of my want
What is life but pleasures of free emotions?
Ringing from my calm river to vastness of your ocean
Folding me in for ever and ever
When I wake up every morning
And thank the heavens
That you are lying next to me
Your are my violin
I am your cello
In equal repose
Quietly listening, awaiting our cue
In Brahms' unison 2nd movement introduction
Of our double concerto
But late in the heart of night
I am your gypsy
Your are my Hungarian dance

Poem of the Day

poet Edmund Spenser

My love is like to ice, and I to fire:
How comes it then that this her cold so great
Is not dissolved through my so hot desire,
But harder grows the more I her entreat?
