Thank you for the loving

Thank you for the loving
Thank you for the believing
Thank you for the laughter
Thank you for the pain
Thank you for moments
Thank you for changing me again
Thank you for the promises
Thank you for the food
Thank you for the music
Thank you for the cats you shooed
Thank you for teaching me lessons
Thank you for pushing me to grow
Thank you for all you did
Even things you did not know
I always knew I was the wind of change
I didn't realize I would bring the storm
I am sorry I couldn't keep the warm
We were meant to be lovers first
What did I know we would become lovers last
If I knew of our future
I would change our past

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I wrote this after I broke it off with a boy I was dating for two and a half years
We don't talk anymore because he refuses to
So if he ever comes across this
It's a sort of apology and me saying that I wish we would've still continued being the friends we started out being

THE CHANCELLOR mused as he nibbled his pen

And said, “I can summon a million of men
To fight for their country and Kaiser;
