    This poem was first 'read' to me by a girl, Poppy who became so very very special to me. It moved us so much it became 'our' poem. The background to it so moving, the sentiment so strong it's overpowering. The words have to be set to memory. ISL (Report) Reply

    A great leap of faith in love and it's likened ilk and kin.
    Great grasping words reach out toward's the reader wanting to grab at one and all readers attention. An easy ten. God bless all poets-MJG. (Report) Reply

    What makes this poem particularly poignant is that it was written for a girlfriend killed in an air crash, but became widely known because he used it as key for a secret code for an SOE agent, Violette Szabo, going on an almost suicidal mission during WWII. Marks worked for the British SOE (Special Operations Executive) which ran agents in enemy territory. (Report) Reply

O Love! thou makest all things even
In earth or heaven;
Finding thy way through prison-bars
Up to the stars;
Or, true to the Almighty plan,
That out of dust created man,
