Till and Hoe

Till and Hoe,
to the grave

abandonment
lends itself
to the grieving

Custodian of
the Beast
has needs

soothes the weak,
soothes the distraught,
wastes their light
kills their soul

It has met
so many
deserted eyes…,
blue, brown, hazel

blackening
them, all.

waste
the light,
waste
the frail
warmth
within,

forever rest
alone

without
comfort,
without
shelter.

lest you
kill the
Beast
which darkens
the light
and keeps
in only
that which
is
cold

Poem of the Day

poet Christina Georgina Rossetti

Where sunless rivers weep
Their waves into the deep,
She sleeps a charmed sleep:
Awake her not.
Led by a single star,
She came from very far
