Time Versus Men - Poem by Gabriela Duricova

Time, a lover to the human flesh
Equally sensual and demanding
Begs me to stay
Forever sway
In his pace

While men attempt to
Penetrate my heart with
Innocent swords,
Their guilty words
Hit me in the face

Still I dance like many do
In men's arms warming
Before I grow old
Like I was told
By jealous time

Profiles pass fast
To tribal rules conforming
If you like, bet
But don't regret
Sorrow sublime
