Tonight I Fall

Floating atop a sea of feathers;
Sheets tangling around my ankles
Pulling me under

Ready to be devoured by the earth
And suffocated by blankets

Only if it would mean getting a wink of sleep
Because if I can only be with you in my dreams

Let me dream tonight

I heard the bells on Christmas day
