true love

There was a girl I liked so well
There was a girl I loved so well
But now she’s gone
She set me free
Oh dear god she set me free
I ran upstairs
And laid in bed
Not a where my mother was there
My father came home later that night
He looked for me left and right
He ran upstairs the door he broke
To see me hanging from a rope
He got a knife and cut me down
In my pocket the note was found
It said dig my grave and dig it deep
With marble stones head to feet
And in its place a snow white dove
To show the meaning of true love!

poet John Gay

Friendship, as love, is but a name,
Save in a concentrated flame;
And thus, in friendships, who depend
On more than one, find not one friend.

A hare who, in a civil way,
