When I saw you I Imagine! (Translation of Romantic Ghazal - Tumko Dekha To Yeh Khayaal Aaya, Singer... Jagjeet Singh, Lyricist...Javed Akhtar)

When I saw you I imagine
Life is sunshine
you are dense shadow

Today once again my heart longed for
Today once again I pacified my heart

When you are gone, left me thinking
What I lost and what I gained

Why did the time sang the song
Which I cannot hum a while?

......................................... .....................

Lyricist......Javed Akhtar
Singer........Jagjit Singh
Music Director...Kuldeep Singh
Movie.......Saath Saath(1982)

(Note..Dear Javed Akhtarji, I couldn't translate it well, as your lyrics are quiet powerful to do correct translation, since this stand to be my favourites, I am just trying it. The last two lines interchanged)

Tum Ko Dekha To Ye Khayaal Aaya
    Zindagi Dhoop Tum Ghana Chaaya
Wonderful rendering of late Jagjit Singhji is brought out in the translation. I recall the his concert that I attended in Philadelphia. Thank you. (Report) Reply
