When You Show Me - Poem by Karen GonzalezVidela
When will you believe me?
The man came by and said.
I looked at his face
And with a grimace said:
When the sun shines bright,
When the moon also does,
When the trees are green,
When the water clearly runs,
When the deer are running,
When the war is gone,
When the kids felicitously smile,
When the night is not as dark anymore,
When the faces laugh,
When all people together are,
When the jail is not needed,
When prison is not believed in,
When the birds fearlessly fly,
When the blue whale freely swims,
When the air can be breathed,
When money is not all there is,
When happily ever after comes to exist,
When you can come to me and not talk
Instead just take my hand
And show me a new world.
