Trees were my childhood friends (along with neighbor, Helen) .
Now trees, and other South Carolina plants, have me YELLIN'.
Oh, it may not be outloud-yelling; I keep some feelings inside,
But, my displeasure with some plants here, I'll not from you hide.

Yes, Bri may have a VERY aggressive form of cancer,
& I'll see a doctor Fri. & by next week may have an answer:
'yes' or 'no'. It may spread in less than ninety (90) days,
barely time to eat ice cream in 180 different yummy ways.

Last month's showcase, for me, has come and gone, ignored by many.
But, hey, that's one good thing on PH; you may read all OR not any!
I prefer to use poems not too long, so some I'll edit. Don't you fret.
Each poet may have one poem each month here. Will I get ………..

Hollywood made, of me, a movie …..
some thought scary, others thought groovy.
In it I was called "King Kong";
boy, were those people ever wrong!

Now it's April 30 and I'm back from my extended 'fun' trip overseas.
On the ferry boat from Holland to U.K. we encountered quite a breeze.
But I managed to keep what little I ate tucked away in my big tummy,
and managed to sleep, lulled by the waves as I used to be lulled by my mummy.

RoseAnn, a very Prolific Poet on P-H has cheated Death yet once again, but
a string of nasty events in her life, as told to me by her, makes me wonder when...
her demise will finally come. Perhaps she'd view it as a gift 'from Above', but
EVEN AFTER death I'm guessing she'll still write poems as if death is but a shove.

Bri's Introductory Poem:
I had a GREAT INTRODUCTORY POEM, which, from here, did disappear.
It's not the first & won't be the last words I've 'lost'; to lose more I do now fear.

Well, my wife may make MINOR mistakes....
.....when cake, or pie, or Samosa she bakes.
But once she set our poor dog, Joe, on fire;
the stove burner was, alas, his funeral pyre!
...
Languishing [[ adjective: failing to make progress or be successful ]]
is not a pleasant 'boat' to be in, & being a 'languishing poem' is stressful,
....for sure!
...
Some recent showcases contained poems from the
" Indian Subcontinent " & the " British Isles ".
Some may have brought tears, others perhaps smiles.
...
I'm typing on a 'tablet', so Bri may soon be shouting.
If 'it' acts as it does at times, I also may be pouting!
April's showcase I hope.....found one or two new friends.
My goal: 'To allow you access, with few twists and bends'.

I wonder who rubs now your shoulder.
Will you miss me when you are older?
Will you think of me then?
Will you remember when….

To Whom …..at US Postal Service …….it may concern:
At a board meeting I was recently troubled to learn …..
that you've gotten credit for creating 'Snail Mail'.
Please cease and desist, …..'or else'……, without fail!

A professor spoke on peace tonight.
Good for her, but I think she’s lost sight.....
that war won’t go away,
as hard as one might pray,
...
I’ve started a 'showcase' on my PoemHunter site,
which is NOT a contest; it’s no arena for a fight,
but instead a place where once a month I shall post..
a poem* from you, a PH member, which you’d like read most.

Introductory poem:
This follows a 4-poem showcase for April-May; IT, you probably didn't see.....
.....unless you are one of the four commenters IT had; 1 of them was ME!
...
I may defy the ways of poetry,
as I defy my Heavenly wife,
but my fooling around with poetry....
does NOT jeopardize.....my LIFE! ! ! !
...
Oh Belle, the sunlight which makes me wake,
the moon whose beams are good for-goodness-sake,
don't you hide the eternal love which we dare not to forsake.
Now get thee to thy kitchen and, with haste, make more cake! ! !
