Akinyi Oyuke Poems

Evening,
The shades are already visible,
The clouds gathering,
A storm,
...

Well...it is said love is blind,
Maybe so,
But I see,
With my eyes wide open,
...

In life's journey, I find solace and grace,
For every step, I'm embraced by God's embrace.
With gratitude, I lift my heart and soul,
For blessings bestowed, making me whole.
...

Don't they say that love never comes easy?
Is it not true that you haven't loved until it hurts?
The chances to fall in love, can I count them?
Don't they say again that you only love once?

Drowning

Evening,
The shades are already visible,
The clouds gathering,
A storm,
Just as my heart,
A thousand voices in my head,
None giving direction,
Sure life is cruel,
But why spill its wrath on me
Its just a month over and so
Only angels predict happenings
Prophets if there exist any
Foretellers but only lived in oldage
I look at my life and God I question
Cant it be a little simpler?
A question I ask
Born without a golden spoon
Cant I be considered?
My hearts weighing heavy on me
My dreams I watch being walked upon
The goverment juggling with a future am working so hard on.
And a force so strong pulling me
Backwards...
To a place so dry
A place so lone
The sky looks dry
The air seems retired
The future so bleak
No hope..
Am Crushed
