Angela Wybrow Poems

You were only aged forty-two,
When, with angel wings, up to Heaven you flew;
You were gentle in spirit, with a heart of pure gold,
And, in all of our lives, you've left a huge hole.
...

It's been a few months,
since you've been gone,
And, the time will soon come
for us to move on.
...

As we stood,
waiting for our taxi,
A dandelion seed danced delicately between us;
...

Are you unaware,
Or, do you simply just not care,
That you're breaking my heart,
And tearing my soul apart?
...

It breaks my heart,
to see such a sight;
A place full of darkness,
where, once, there was light.
...

I was stood on watch,
When I heard a rumour,
That a lady was lunching
On a roll, filled with tuna.
...

It had stood on the clifftop, tall and proud,
Drawing in many a record crowd,
But, time passed by, and the music ceased,
And the weeds and the cracks sadly increased.
...

Crab shells, and crab legs;
Hair bows, and old washing pegs.
Pieces of glass: frosted and smooth;
Various rocks: some with curious grooves.
...

Darkness is descending over the town,
And movement in the Harbour has died right down;
I stand, and watch from my hotel window,
As the Harbour lights begin to glow.
...

West Cliff Hall, Ramsgate

It breaks my heart,
to see such a sight;
...

It's a game of chance,
What the sea leaves behind;
It's a game of chance,
What you are likely to find.
...

It's a late spring morning,
A little after five,
But, already the town
Is coming alive.
...

In my box, I would put:

The softness of my late Aunt's cheeks, as we greeted each other;
The welcome coolness of Baby Plum tomatoes, straight from the fridge, in summer.
...

Sitting in silence,
On a busy London-bound train,
The sun streaming in
Through the window,
...

It's early morning -
The Sun is out.
The streets are still quiet,
With barely a soul about
...

When I first saw you,
you were as quiet as a mouse;
You appeared to be trapped
inside your own little house.

Dame Olivia Newton-John:
Into our lives, your bright light shone.
You were unique; a beautiful pearl,
Who was adored by millions across the world.
...

Let the good times roll
With some Northern Soul.

Vintage; cool;

The Best Poem Of Angela Wybrow

Gentleman James

You were only aged forty-two,
When, with angel wings, up to Heaven you flew;
You were gentle in spirit, with a heart of pure gold,
And, in all of our lives, you've left a huge hole.

You were helpful, caring, honest and kind;
A remarkable man with a brilliant mind.
You were warm and welcoming, and ever so wise;
You were the perfect gentleman in everyone's eyes.

For other people, you always had time:
You helped them sparkle; you helped them shine.
You were positive and encouraging, and you pushed people on,
And we'll all really miss you now that you're gone.

You were happiest when surrounded by bush or by briar,
And, in your belly, there was a real sense of fire;
You lived your life with passion and zest -
There's no doubt about it: you were one of the best.

Your books, your art, the photos you captured;
Your chickens, your cats, your love of old tractors -
All of these things were so dear to your heart,
And, in your life, they played a huge part.

You were a decent guy on who folk could depend;
You were solid, supportive - you were an amazing friend.
We'll always remember your bright, smiling face,
And the love which you showered all over the place.

Your spirit has risen to the Heavens above,
But, down here on Earth, we can still feel your love;
You really were an all round good guy,
So, up there in Heaven, fly high, James, fly high.
