Arjun Mangol Poems

In the days of yore, did we gush down,
the snowy mounts that kissed the cerulean void.
The quiddity of life, hitherto unknown;
brimmed us from within; divine nectar.

'Tears don't fall, I have no more to spare,
Steep'd though in sorrow may I be
Advance through this darkness I will..'
Fret not, young maiden, for these tears will but fall, whence,

As I smell the earth so sweet,
in this subterranean sanctum;
images roll betwixt my eyecaps
of my arduous path up hither.
...

How random is Life......
Like a gust of wind do people come,
sway us, whisper and move along.
Like a smattering of clouds that race across the skies,
...

I stared into the eyes of the hooded silhouette that stood before me,
as he slipped his unsheathed blade deep into my bosom.
It was punishment i knew,
for i had done none but wrong.

Ode To Life

In the days of yore, did we gush down,
the snowy mounts that kissed the cerulean void.
The quiddity of life, hitherto unknown;
brimmed us from within; divine nectar.
Meandering down the vales of Time,
Past quiescent lakes and hillocks auburn,
followed the path carved by His hand.
His means arcane, yet felicitous to the hilt.
Fragrant zephyrs arise, mists from the cascades,
plays in the reeds and the osiers, some forgotten song;
O! take my heartstrings for the harp and play along...
for this eternal music, sweetens the air.
the waters all a'shimmer, encrusted with jewels of love,
the wreath that binds us all, like iron to the lode.
Like the myriad streams to the Ganges, did we meet,
our hearts welded for the immutable, Fate's divine...
And now as i stand on this ledge of Time,
reminiscent of the serendipity so far;
riffle those memories like pages of a book
and find betwixt them a flower or two,
fragrant reminders of a grandiose past.
Yonder flies a swallow, buoyed by the North wind,
as he makes his way into the gloaming
Evanescent horizons! , here we come,
this euphoria is built to last, for though,
our paths may go asunder, aeons may pass but still;
as this fluvial tale serves an exemplar
that like a river, leaping over weirs
gurgling and bubbling, swirling and frothing till at last,
it quenches the thirst of the insatiable sea,
so will we meet our destiny.
