The Rumbling Of Dark Thoughts Poem by Arjun Mangol

The Rumbling Of Dark Thoughts

As I smell the earth so sweet,
in this subterranean sanctum;
images roll betwixt my eyecaps
of my arduous path up hither.
Away from my bearers,
Love, warmth and touch.
I wandered unto a path rarely trodden before,
trudged many a weary step,
the peak just visible, and sometimes not.
Brimmed with hope, happiness and fortitude,
I made my way on, thirsty for more,
Only to find a pool, whose nectar was as black as coal.
Like a butterfly caught in the rain, I made my way around,
Sad and Forlorn, Wretched and wrought,
the essence of purpose seeping away....
I seek solace hither, for I have nowhwere to go,
as i stare into the glinting eyes of the ancient gods,
Wondering, as my kind has always, when perfection shall befall us...? ?
