Ashton Jackson Poems

Misunderstood is the love in my heat.
We had something going, yet we were pulled apart.
Misunderstood is the pain I feel, knowing I have to let go.
What happens in the end, we already know.
...

Today, I realized I still love you, right when you wouldn't let me hug you.
You once were so close to my heart, I don't know what pulled us apart.
I still love you after the hell you put me through.
What can make you see, what can I do?
...

Lets go back to when our love was strong, when we were each others whole world and nothing was wrong.
Yes, I still love you, I will til I die.
But here lately, I've found your attention less than the tears I cry.
Lets go back to when you wanted me by your side.
...

Was it a mistake to let him kiss me, then change my mind?
Was it a mistake to hold him close, then find no intrest in time?
Was it wrong to let him love me, then turn him down?
Was it wrong to pull him up, then let him drown?

Its like being hooked to a hitch with a metal chain, drug across gravel with unbearable pain.
Tied and pulled with your two bare feet, I pray the day me and the dead end meet.
In my heart, I feel it all.
Tying to get back on my feet, I only fall.
...

Can you save me from this hell that I'm in?
Can you take away all of my sin?
This place of despair, this place of sorrow.
You, my Savior, are the only one that should know, my greatest fears and what they're about.

Misunderstood

Misunderstood is the love in my heat.
We had something going, yet we were pulled apart.
Misunderstood is the pain I feel, knowing I have to let go.
What happens in the end, we already know.
She will get you, and I will be left to clean up the mess.
Misunderstood is the words that I say, the hurt, the stress.
Misunderstood when I tll you I love you, but you never seem to reply.
Misunderstood are the tears that I cry.
Misunderstood when you grab my hand, and I know, I will never feel like this again.
Misunderstood when you kiss my cheek, or when you touch me gently, and make my knees go weak.
Misunderstood because I already know this isn't right.
Misunderstood, and I will dream of you tonight.
