Haze, smoke and fog
Drifts across my dreams
I walk in a sunless sky
Or so it seems

A young girl looks in her mirror
As she wonders what life will bring
She brushes her hair and checks her skin
And applies some cleansing cream

I left home when I was only thirteen
The farm life I thought was not for me
I've returned, I stand here looking in the window
Hopeing that the darkness will hide me.

The winter wind is restless tonight
It is looking for something it cannot find.
My heart is moving with the wind
Searching for someone I wish were mine

He kissed his wife and said goodbye and fought a war or two.
