In Love As A Child Poem by CHARLES BAILEY

In Love As A Child

Rating: 4.5

Haze, smoke and fog
Drifts across my dreams
I walk in a sunless sky
Or so it seems

I was a child of ten or so
Sitting in Sunday School
You joined my class for just one day
Your family was passing through

Your voice sounded as an angles
Your eyes fluttered like their wings
You thrilled me deep within my soul
When you asked my name

I have never forgotten you
Throughout all these years
Just the very thought of you
Can bring my soul to tears

I know there is love at first sight
Because you captured my heart forever
But a childs love is a foolish love
When you can never be together

I will always remember you
And remain forever sad
My lips will always thirst for
The kiss I never had.
