Claire Galpin Poems

A postman is a busy man,
Has lots of letters to post,
A postman really gets around,
From house to flat to floor.
...

Fear that I am going to die,
Suffering from agony and pain inside,
Fear that I’m not going to live,
I’m being cut into very small bits.
...

Its fun to make a snowman,
If only he could stay,
But when the sun comes out,
Our snowman runs away.
...

I’ve a pain; I’ve had it for weeks,
I’ve a belly that gives out leaks,
I’m all mixed up, I can’t get on
Everything I do seems to be wrong.
...

Theirs something about this house,
That gives out a spooky affect,
During the day, while kids are at play,
They give little thoughts away.
...

I’m suppose to be in labour,
I’m only just in pain,
I’ve had Christmas without you,
It’s just not the same,
...

I’m very upset indeed,
I’ve just lost a very dear Aunt,
It’s not something one can replace,
Or ever see again,
...

Where did thou sting go little bee,
Under my toes or by my knee,
The pain thou hast left me…
Is unnecessary.

Drugs is a thing,
You should never ever take,
It ain’t real,
It’s just a fake,
...

Taking drugs is a dead end job,
Put your nerves on edge, when you see Mr Plod,
It’s not so very long, before your body starts to ache,
With holes in your brain, your life begins to break,
...

Help me to breathe at a normal pace,
For the pain inside to be taken away,
To be able to smile and lift my life,
Help me to unscrew my sad feelings,
...

Come back and give me guidance
Come back and give me love
I shall miss your joy and laughter
Do shine on me from above.
...

The short duration of the blossom
Gives out so much pleasure with its beauty
The dancing branches in all their glory
So strong a tree, so delicate it moves
...

Cold in the heart
Warmth in the sprit
Confusion in my mind
Sorrow laying very heavy
...

I don’t feel happy,
I don’t feel sad,
I don’t very often feel mad,
In a way I’m glad.
...

So you’re flying off the America
To explore the foreign lands
Just like your dream, as a child
‘Hill Street Blues’ comes alive
...

I’m a snake of three feet long,
I’ve got colours that all look wrong,
I’ve got blue and green
That should not be seen,
...

Is this the life for me?
How am I to tell?
I’m all mixed up, I can’t get on,
I’m only fit for hell,
...

This world is hell, its not for me,
I don’t fit in so I must flee,
I can’t stand a lie,
So I must hurry and die.
...

The ships are in the harbour,
Some ship are small, some are larger,
The wavy waters blue and green,
Although blue and green should not be seen.

The Postman

A postman is a busy man,
Has lots of letters to post,
A postman really gets around,
From house to flat to floor.

If he is a lucky one,
To the Palace he shall stroll,
Along the path, not the lawn.
Maybe a parcel large or small,
Maybe thin, fat or bulgy.

People have letterboxes small,
People have them high and low,
To the left, right and centre.
A postman must enjoy his job,
On all conditions of the forecast,
Or he would not have chosen it.
