The rush as it runs through my veins
Making me believe that I could be insane
Lost in the thoughts of getting stronger
Not seeing as fate says not much longer
...
The clock goes on ticking
Letting us know that the end is near
But as an end approaches a beginning appears
...
My voice was stolen,
no better yet caged.
In a prison cell made of empty bottles
the content consumed in hopes of relief.

I stand with her with the moon in full bloom
Never have I seen such a night
She takes my hand pulls me along
Taking me further into this forgotten night

A child needs a mother
Not a father, sister, or brother,
Because a mother builds the soul,
They take a thousand pieces and make it whole.
...
Last time I saw you it was raining
and I couldn't help but think of childhood
when rain took the form of angelic tears
because what else stops the world like crying
...
I call to you
Howling like only the young can.
With infinite dreams and no understanding
And like a winter's storm is your reply
...
Gone is the time where honor ruled all
Where all one had to do was admit defeat to be spared
Now we are like dogs to death’s beck and call
No longer are we for the people whose problems we would bare
...
Like a quarter spinning to an end
Or a wheel on its last rotation
So it is that I must end this trend
Of you keeping me forever stationed
...
As I stand underneath these lights
While the fans pack in by flights
...

Hi my name is Devin and like some people on this site I like to write poetry. I guess I have always had a thing for words and their beauty and I believe that poetry is one of the best ways to show beauty in different ways. Poetry is such a great thing because it can communicate things that not even the writer intented to communicate and that is what I hope my poetry can do for you. Juiced
The rush as it runs through my veins
Making me believe that I could be insane
Lost in the thoughts of getting stronger
Not seeing as fate says not much longer
My bloods on fire saying go go go
With anticipation like a tiger going to and fro
Lost in the ecstasy of the lifting of weight
In hopes of becoming the next great
They stroke my ego telling me I'm on top
Not seeing that I'm about to drop
I pick up my helper with its long little nose
Just to give myself one step above all my foes
With anger I meet everyone around me
This strength is worth any fee
Lost in the madness of being bold
I never noticed as my arm goes cold
Now I'm here lying on the floor
Seeing as my future becomes a closing door
Yelling out into empty space looking for help
Seeing I lost everyone, because I was all about myself
