Sparkling crystal glasses with stems
and then she said a prayer.

Across the crowded room I'm in,
I look and there's a face.
Have I seen you somewhere else,
in some other place?

The earth sings a song to me
so I can listen and hope to be
one who cares about each new flower
that graces the ground it grows upon

You take a chance and try your best
and hope things turn out right.
But the outcome from the chance you take
is not within your sight.

We're headed to the southland
to avoid the wintry scenes.
I will not miss the falling snows
or temperatures in the teens.

Great is your power.
Great is your fame.
But what do people
think of your name?

Heart, we must cast aside
the love that wasn't ours.
We must leave behind what we did feel
and all those wondrous hours.

Are you captain of your soul
that lives with you and makes you whole?
Or are there mutineers tearing at you,
attacking you so your soul can't get through?
...

If there was a wishing well
I would wish there were no hell.
I would wish that all were fine
and water, itself, could be turned into wine.
