Jiminy Cricket Poem by Edwina Reizer

Jiminy Cricket

She speaks to me so silently
and says what needs to be heard.
I hear the intent some of the time
and listen to her word.
But there are times I do not heed
the words she says to me.
And I find that if I'd listened
how much better things would be.

It never fails that when I'm troubled
I listen to her speak.
But failure to be attentive to my conscience
are the times that I am weak.
