I do not envy the young
deceived by a silver tongue.
Inflated egos swollen,
their innocence was stolen.
...
I overhear feisty breezes
whispering words of gibberish
amidst the sound of rustling leaves.

I was born in a small city, (Bathurst) New Brunswick, Canada, the third eldest of thirteen children, ten girls and three boys. I’m the product of a semi-dysfunctional family, brought up by a physically abusive and controlling father, versus a loving, nurturing mother. Many of my poems reflect the uniqueness and special circumstances of my upbringing and my love of nature. I have written three books (380 poems per book) which are available on Amazon.com. I am 70 years old and have been writing poems since I was 35, they just started to come to me one day at work and I decided to write them down. My poems touch on pain, fear, love and social issues.)
Elephants And Blue Whales
I do not envy the young
deceived by a silver tongue.
Inflated egos swollen,
their innocence was stolen.
They will confront climate change,
and the weather will seem strange.
Their future's no mystery,
jungles will be history.
They will witness oceans rise
as any chance for peace dies.
Their dreams will be put on hold
and many may not grow old.
Wild elephants and blue whales
will be reduced to tales.
It will be too late to cry,
millions of species will die.
Thanks to our stupidity
hope lost its validity.
We've disenfranchised our youth,
there's no greater sin or truth.
