Elephants And Blue Whales Poem by Emile Pinet

Elephants And Blue Whales

Rating: 5.0

I do not envy the young
deceived by a silver tongue.
Inflated egos swollen,
their innocence was stolen.

They will confront climate change,
and the weather will seem strange.
Their future's no mystery,
jungles will be history.

They will witness oceans rise
as any chance for peace dies.
Their dreams will be put on hold
and many may not grow old.

Wild elephants and blue whales
will be reduced to tales.
It will be too late to cry,
millions of species will die.

Thanks to our stupidity
hope lost its validity.
We've disenfranchised our youth,
there's no greater sin or truth.

Haunting and accurate portrait of the world we are shaping through our greed and avarice, the catastrophe is no longer in the future it is in the hear and now and this poem as a startling reminder of that fact. This poem should drive anyone with a conscious to cry. Fantastic poem, should be read in schools.

An insightful piece on the devastating effects of climate change, well conceived and elegantly crafted in persuasive expressions with artistic brilliance. A beautiful work of art nicely embellished with poetic rhyme and rhythm. Thanks for sharing, Emily.
