Emily Thom Poems

Dark as day, crimson bright
How could this happen, where was her fight?
Back on the road, into the night
Could this be real?
...

The heavy storms of April reflecting the solemn desolation of today
A vanishing raindrop as it glistens in the deep puddle of uncertainty

How beautiful it is to imagine the storm if only for a moment as a nightmare of dark clouds
...

A small magnolia basking in the beauty of a terrible storm
Finding comfort being next to the black rose in the garden of memories

Has the frequent dream of a broken light manifested to days of this flower in bloom?
...

Staring into the eyes of a magnificent tiger
Feeling his intoxicating grip dominate every fiber of my existence
Having the passionate state of containment that is overwhelming with his irresistibly heavy breath on my skin
...

A young child with no desire but her mothers touch
The lost memory of her life of pure innocence
Smiling faces she sees, though simple days of endearing have long to be forgotten
She grew through the years with no understanding, no cares, no doubts,
...

Here we are awaiting the calm before the chaos
This shade of darkness from the black Kiwi Baron orchid blossoming through these endless tiresome days
Some may choose to disregard change, but do we not really see of which is staring in our faces?
The sheer truth of comfort that brings to the colorful yet deviant realizations of what may become
...

Light as a feather, stiff as a board
The astounding faith of exclusion fortifies my resilience to isolation
Laying perfectly still in the mist of fear and calamity,
While those who surround me with black magic lift me effortlessly to unimaginable heights
...

Through sudden change beheld a beautifully majestic black eagle
He was liberated from burden, while separated from the dim light of mortal distress

In a slow flight with his dark winged feathers, he flew through doubtful territory
...

Surprised by such a sudden spark
That left me quite assured
Where one was familiar to shades of dark
Could turn me so allured

My Dear Best Friend

Dark as day, crimson bright
How could this happen, where was her fight?
Back on the road, into the night
Could this be real?

Approached by an owl, lit up by the moon
Humming the words of an unwanted tune
The desperate hope to be forgotten very soon
What a painful feel

Through the wind-struck trees lies a whispering canary,
Who sings the songs of the quite contrary
A lost desire for a life of the merry
Has it turned to hate?

As the water sprinkles among the grass
Nobody knew how long this would last
Could this go on, or will it pass
Is it too late?

Now I resemble a rose of black,
Shriveled to the point of no turning back
Will she move on or could she crack
A question to tear me apart

Walking fast, Ive learned to crawl
So why the punishment for it all
The incredible agony of not hearing her call
Memories forever in my heart

We've gone through so much, how could this be it
Feelings repressed making it hard to admit
I cannot believe that you just want to quit
Is this the end?

A sister to care for was my only intention
The thought of being apart was never to mention
Is there anything I can do to get your attention
My dear best friend
