On a beautiful late February evening of twenty six degrees
White butterflies seemingly dancing in the warm coastal breeze
That blow through the parkland from the nearby bay
So great to be living on such a nice day

I saw Mr Cocky in the park today
So self confident looking since this is his way
With a beautiful woman in her early twenties maybe
The eldest she would be would be twenty three
...

By parked cars where people are eating in on beach car parks them one often does see
Where over scraps of food thrown to them they squabble noisily
Silver gulls are blue and grey foreshore scavengers to coastal people well known
Though they are also well capable of finding food on their own
...

That beauty is in the eyes of the beholder as a truism remain
A true to human life saying that it's own self does explain
One who is not attractive to look at may have the inner glow
Physical beauty is only skin deep as many a beholder does know
...

There are community judges in every town
Who in their words does like to drag others down
Yet for their judgments they never receive money in pay
Suppose they cannot help it if they live their lives in this way
...

I cannot say that i was ever a stud
As sex goes one might say a bit of a dud
On my next birthday i will turn seventy three
There isn't a baby of sperm left in me
...

To meet arrogant young males you need not travel far
Call in on any evening to your local public bar
Where the egotistical young males of the town does meet
And in stories of their sexual conquests like to compete
...

Even bad things does happen in a beautiful City in a beautiful Land
What has happened on March the fifteenth in Christchurch New Zealand seems so hard to understand
When some fifty people were murdered and many more badly injured in their houses of prayer
Sadly such massacres of innocent people are nowadays no longer rare
...

One of the town's more likeable and nicer young blokes
Plump in his mid twenties known as the man of jokes
Down to earth in his ways and not in any way proud
In the local pub at his jokes the laughter is loud
...

People age rather quickly beyond their lives prime
Eventually we all become victims of time
Though some in anti ageing creams and hair dyes try to hide time's decay
The years on their bodies does show anyway
