Time On Our Lives Poem by Francis Duggan

Time On Our Lives

People age rather quickly beyond their lives prime
Eventually we all become victims of time
Though some in anti ageing creams and hair dyes try to hide time's decay
The years on their bodies does show anyway
Youth with us it only does have a short stay
We do age a little with each passing day
Our memories our only link to the past
The Seasons come and go and we seem to age fast
Those who are conscious of how they look to others are not of the few
But this is not saying anything that is new
Time to the ageing no longer a friend
We are born to mortality why otherwise pretend
Time on our lives ever ticking away
For us all there is a last night and day.
