The World is full of gullible people they believe everything that they hear
They believe every word of Government propagandists and they live in their cocoons of fear
The Government know that 'tis a good vote catcher when they talk of security for the State
And for them 'tis a mighty power weapon if widespread fear they can create.

He has said his goodbyes to the old Coastal Town his future is elsewhere
And he has gone to try his luck in the bigger World out there
The wanderlust is in him and he has gone on a long train ride
And his best days are ahead of him and youth is on his side.

In my boyhood days in Millstreet she was one I used to know
I last met her in New York some four decades ago
From Tullig hill near Millstreet Town and sad am I to say
That I read of the news of her passing on the internet today.

Go to Iraq to do some soldiering and whilst there experience some of the pain
That Iraqi people are going through because of them due to their love of George W Bush
If your ally is the aggressor does that mean to help him you rush?

And like all the other ageing I realize how time went so fast

Dan Carroll of Inchaleigh was a good fellow he lived all of his life around Millstreet
He enjoyed his pints of guinness in the Bush Bar as nice a person as one could wish to meet
He always worked hard for an honest living a member of a very well known clan
And those who knew him will never forget him since there was so much to like about the man.
