Fatal flaw
Moment of irreconcilable difference awakening
The downward spiral turning point
The unforgivable thing
...

What stories might the stitches tell
Of times and people not so long past
Their hoped for futures
Written and imbedded
...

I am an old pair of scissors
After decades of loyal service
A little dull but willing
I submit to the sharpener's wheel
...

What might these old scissors have to say
Whose hands reached out for them
Without looking away from the work
As she picked them up deftly and turned them around
...

To weaken our cause
They seek to divide us
They exploit our fears
Amplify our differences
...

In this dystopian present
Who is composing the score
Writing the libretto
...

La luna llena se levanta arriba de las montanas dentro el cielo oscuro sin ayudas de nosotros o el viento. Este luna solitaria toca nuestros corazones con amor. Amor de la primera vista.
...

Tonight's sky
The one that you and I
Fell from as stardust
That sky
...

I do not think I am alone
In not knowing what to say when tragedy befalls our community
The sadness, the shock, the helplessness
The clock cannot be turned back
...

18 kind of beautiful minutes of my life
Driving home through Ventura
North on the 101 toward Santa Barbara
Into the sunset around 7 in the evening
...

Shhh..
Listen
I know there are lives
No, whole worlds
...

As we begin our hike up the to Baynes Peak, Mount Maxwell Provincial Park, Salt Spring Island, British Columbia
She says,
Everything we do today is beautiful and awesome
...

Come closer traveller
Let your heart find its center
Each turn around the sun
Come a little closer
...

Whew! says the gentle tarantula
Halfway across the road
Almost there, he exclaims
As he slowly takes
...

travel down your road
the end of the rainbow
gets closer
...

A stranger once
but now a friend.
We met.
I said begin it.
...

A disaster is what happens to someone else
In another town
It's news
Astonishing
...

I lost you when you changed your name
I never can remember your new one
And the old one left town with no forwarding address
...

I am the person who votes
And the one who does not vote
I am the campaign worker
And the indifferent student cooling his heels on the corner downtown
...

Fatal Flaw

Fatal flaw
Moment of irreconcilable difference awakening
The downward spiral turning point
The unforgivable thing
She models my worst behavior
My worries misunderstood then played back as broken spirit
Dark epiphany
The end, far in the future, began last night
Happiness precedes the downfall
The shift to entropy occurs out of time
Hope masks hopelessness
The pretense wellbeing against the backdrop of little or no concrete evidence
Painstakingly erected over years of concentrated effort and skill, it collapses with little effort
Everything falls apart
Obsolescent relationship
When humor fails
The death of spirit as worst fears are realized
Resilience is no longer an option
All good things become signs of failure
Resentment piles up
Each well-intentioned act of kindness becomes a sad memory of a failed relationship
Turning inward as a last defense
Indifference as a way of life
The peace in giving up
The other's decision to quit

I want to talk
