Hasanul Kabir Poems

Water and mud the school stands by,
And was hurry to get the bell.
The plum tree branches were not so high,
And very few plums had taming spell.
...

The promise was, only a cup of tea.
And fifteen miles to go to get that
Precious thing; ridden by a trainee.
The fog was then, of the Trasimene combat!
...

The rabbit has nowhere to go but
The rooftop corner, and surrendered
Itself finally to the fearful hands!
Ah pity, you're in need of pitying really;
...

Yes, the tree's got its branches cut.
You'll get them silent, always-
The more you hurt, the more it grows.
...

Ocean, the fathomless pit to measure-
The deepest, the quietest.
Beauty shines in the silent chest -
As the roses in the wild; much
...

A crowd takes no notice of the feet.
The green grasses, the red carpet,
Even the red roses of the garland
Get trodden having no mercy.

The Plum Sting

Water and mud the school stands by,
And was hurry to get the bell.
The plum tree branches were not so high,
And very few plums had taming spell.

All the plum stings were then Kai-fin,
The full grown stings were really they.
Enough to rip my young-ling skin;
Bleed I, like the giraffe to say!

Oh! Joy, you have a different shade, and
Tough to know your silence trend.
Years to go the tie to cut, and
The tears be inked; the sticks be penned!

Ah! Silence, how balanced your stings are!
No claim; no question; but the drain-
That's full of tears run like a spear.
One spear that aims at the multiple pain!
