and there is a train

high
comedown
withdrawal

this year has been picking treasured things-
right off of the tree-
and taking bites out of them.

when i'm falling asleep with my shoes on
because i'm just too-
faded-
to take em off.

jesus christ!
don't scrub your porch right now-
it's 4 am and your neighbors are asleep!
you're shaking and

the sidewalk at 2am, wet with stale rain

and a green, eerie streetlight
...

lace feels bad / on my fingertips
denim feels bad / on my nails
...

a voice like motor oil,
onyx with a pretty rainbow film.
...

stretch them until they don’t make sense,
and cry for anyone
...

my skin has been closed for so long
it creaks when it opens
and the stairs up my spine just aren't ready
to be pressed on
