Jasper Daniel Poems

They painted your walls black

And gave you food but no water
...

The yellow bus
Made a screeching halt
And brought me back
From a dream about to start
...

The sacred voices went silent
They had no money to pay the rent
They left me cold and empty
When I was nine or ten.

A Suicide Note

They painted your walls black

And gave you food but no water

They played a song… A morbid tune

While your throat went dry

They built a fire around you

Saying it would keep you warm

See what they’ve done

In your hand they’ve put a gun

Blow your head… stop the run

In the tunnel of time

There’s no more fun

Now please don’t try

The effort would pain you

Every turn you make leads to another

Cause you’re in a maze…a perfect square

This truth will cripple you

The game you play is the game you lose

May be it’s a little heavy on your head

But this is what happens

When your guardian angel wants you dead
