Jennifer Rychter Poems

And there he sat,
On a bench in the park,
Staring off into the distance,
Silent and sorrowful...
...

You walk by,
Right through me,
With not even a glance at me,
Like I'm not there,
...

And you look at me,
Like I'm just a leaf in the wind,
With no control-
Lost in the current of mediocrity,
...

Here I am...
Writing...
Wasting away my life again...
But this is my life...
...

I watch the candle burn,
Glowing softly in the night,
As the dim flame pierces the infinite darkness which has swallowed my soul...
...

Insanity keeps scratching at the back of my mind,
Waiting for my to welcome it in,
It waits for its moment to strike...
Hysteria grows within me,
...

You claim that you love me,
But is your love wort these painful memories,
This agony and misery,
Despair,
...

...And there you are,
So helpless,
So innocent,
Shining like a light from Heaven,
...

Despair

And there he sat,
On a bench in the park,
Staring off into the distance,
Silent and sorrowful...

As I slowly walked closer,
He slightly raised his head...
As I gazed into those crystal blue eyes
I found myself being drawn closer...

Pale as death himself...
His beautiful hair dancing with the winds...
Tears streaming from his eyes,
As he tried to turn away...

I reached out toward him to wipe away his tears,
I asked what was wrong,
He remained silent and rested his hand on mine and the fear vanished from his eyes...
