What Has Christmas Become?

celebration time is very near
so lets be filled with joy
smile at the jolly reindeer
every girl and boy

christmas is the greatest day
a man can witness in his life
so wish your silly worries away
father, brother, cousin, wife

lets buy each other heaps of crap
'cause we all need lots more stuff
we'll all be sucked into the consumerism trap
of 'too much is never enough'

we're all good at being greedy
but block our thoughts of guilt
and when we suddenly think of the needy
well - what about a patchwork quilt?
