John McClay Poems

Have you heard of the deafening silence?
It rips though your heart
And screams through your mind
...

I dream of a secret garden
Filled with roses
And a bench that seats two
...

With these hands I will defend you.
With these arms I will hold you.
With this heart I will love you.
...

I cannot think
I cannot breathe
Your arms are so warm
It amazes me
...

On one beautiful day
I wished upon a star
In hopes that my feelings
Would travel quite far
...

I'll give you my love
and ask nothing in return

I'll give you my heart
...

I wonder what it would be like to be a star?
Shining in the heavens,
Watching over the world
...

I wish I could show you
My surreal world
That you have inspired
...

I walk alone
On this one-way trail
Searching for what I seek
But to no avail
...

A dream catcher, made of wood and string
Catches nightmares
And safeguards good dreams
...

In my bed
I lay to sleep
I hope some day
These words I’ll keep
...

I made this world
A world for you
A place filled with love
A place only we knew
...

Where are you?
Why can't I find you?
I search and search
In this darkness
...

I'm all wrong!
Somebody made a mistake
Somewhere down the line
...

Man walks in the woods
Sees a frantic animal
He opens the trap
...

From the lights above,
to the lights below,
our quiet stage,
is a glow.
...

'Through thick and thin; '
That's the promise we make,
Standing face to face,
Our future lives at stake.
...

We are in the middle of a storm
A storm that threatens to overcome us
A storm with no end in sight
...

I wish I could find the right words
The words that deswcribe my feelings for you
For 'I love you' just isn't enough.
...

There is a monster inside of me.
It threatens to overcome my soul -
To erase my existance from this world.
...

The Deafening Silence

Have you heard of the deafening silence?
It rips though your heart
And screams through your mind

Silence used to be quiet
Laying on the grassy hills
Under a starry night

But now it comes at a terrible price
A price that I cannot afford to pay
But am forced to nonetheless

For each silent moment
A part of me is gone -
Sent to the nothingness of the dark

One silent moment
Is nothing to worry about
But this is not the case

The silence builds and builds
It becomes deafening
And will eventually
Encompass me completely
